A Georgian film producer who worked on an award-winning film has been selected as one of 20 emerging producers from Europe to participate in a special networking platform at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
Over four days in May, Nino Devdariani will join other emerging film producers from Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom in famed film festival’s networking platform Producers on the Move.
Organisers say the May 14-17 platform will bring together some of the ""most energetic, emerging producers from across Europe".
Devdariani has a rich background in film in Georgia; she produced the award-winning 2014 feature film Corn Island, directed by Georgian man George Ovashvili.
She also founded the Alamdary Film production company and was currently involved in the production of Ovashvili's next feature film Khibula.

Cannes Film Festival representatives said the aim of the Producers on the Move initiative was to "assist European producers to find partners for their upcoming projects, to strengthen industry networking opportunities and to offer a platform where the producer’s potential is recognised”.
This year's Producers on the Move will include round-table meetings and project pitching sessions for all 20 producers, face-to-face meetings between them as well as a press campaign and online presentation for participants.
The platform was designed by the European Film Promotion (EFP) – a network of national cinema centres and agencies including the Georgian National Film Centre – to facilitate meetings and cooperation between industry professionals.
Producers on the Move will be held from May 14-17 at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
