Georgia has presented cultural shows and exhibitions about its history, tradition and lifestyle at a cultural and tourism exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Destination Europe exhibition, held on April 9-10, hosted 22 European Union (EU) countries and three other European nations for the annual event.
Through this exhibition, we invite Indonesian people to visit [Europe] as we invite Europeans to visit Indonesia,” said the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Jakarta on Saturday.
The exhibition also showcased cooking demonstrations, language and culture talks and a culinary festival presenting food from the participating nations. Georgia presented photos showing some of the country’s best sightseeing areas, samples of folk crafts, traditional souvenirs, Georgian clothing, wine and traditional Georgian snack churchkhela.
The EU high official, who also holds the title of vice president of the European Commission, participated in the opening ceremony before visiting the Georgian stall together with the Indonesian Foreign Minister. Mogherini said it was important for Georgia to participate in these kind of exhibitions alongside other European countries.
