The new Rose Revolution Square will connect different levels and areas and lead visitors to an underground centre through "an elegant landscape”.

Along a slightly inclined surface the new Rose [Revolution] Square creates a connection to the underground areas the square was built on during the 70s. There will be new retail and restaurant areas and so-called sunken gardens,” stated GRAFT in a press release published on its website.

The company planned to create a multifunctional public space offering different features and facilities for visitors. GRAFT designed a two-level public space that will guide visitors through a continuous landscape "while creating a calm atmosphere”.

The urban flow is intertwined through a series of cut-outs on the square surface, additional design elements towards the East and West create meeting areas,” said GRAFT.
In warm Georgian summers, water mirrors and fountains will refresh visitors, while in winter the space can be used for ice skating.”

This was not the first time GRAFT has worked in Georgia. In 2009 the German design company designed and planned the refurbishment of the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, located at Rose Revolution Square.
