Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has today visited the newest of Georgia’s winter resorts, Tetnuldi, which the PM believes will be "the best not only in Georgia but in Eastern Europe.”
Kvirikashvili inspected the first cable lift of Tetnluldi – the winter resort in Georgia which opened this winter after the first phase of the development ended in January.
The ski resort was located in western Georgia’s Svaneti region.

Today the Prime Minister also pledged to construct a road linking Georgia’s second largest city Kutaisi and Svaneti through Tsageri and Lentekhi.
"Once the road operates, it will take two hours to drive from Kutaisi International Airport to Tetnuldi,” Kvirikashvili said.
Economi Minister Dimitry Kvirikashvili who also was in Svaneti today invited all winter enthusiasts in Tetnuldi to see "what a good new resort we have” in the mountains.
Tetnuldi is a cut above other ski resorts as it has the longest trails with the biggest vertical drops in the South Caucasus.
Tetnuldi’s cable-driven lift was installed by French company Poma. The lift will serve guests for free during for the entire first season.
The resort development was financed by the Georgian and French governments. About 100 million GEL was spent on the project.

Tetnuldi’s longest trail will be 9.5km with a vertical drop of 1.7km. The total length of the trails will be 30km by the end of this year. So far the total length was 7km with the longest trail of 3.5km.
The qualification of the trails was as the following:
A free bus from Mestia to Tetnuldi and back was offered to tourists during the winter season. The resort is about 15km away from Mestia.
