Georgia is building an online hotel reservation system, bringing the local hospitality industry into the 21st Century and benefiting the millions of travellers who visit the country.

Local web design studio Pro-Service offered to create individual online reservation systems for all hotels in Georgia.

This service launched today, allowing international and domestic travellers the ability to book rooms online using a Visa card or pay once they arrived at the hotel.

As of today hotels in Georgia offer online reservation through international online accommodation booking websites such as booking.com for example. At the same time hotels offer contact forms [email, phone] to the customers to book a room. But they do not have their own, individual online reservation platform,” director of Pro-Service Revaz Natroshvili told Agenda.ge.
Now we are offering hotels operating in Georgia to create individual webpages for them where their customers can go and book their preferable room. Customers themselves can see how many rooms are available at the hotel and what the cost is for it,” he added.

The online hotel reservation system will offer four benefits to hotels in Georgia:

  • A multilingual, dynamic and modern webpage;
  • A new system of hotel management;
  • Integration of online reservation and payment; and
  • Free trainings for hotel staff.

Natroshvili said after presenting the online hotel reservation system today 19 hotels in Georgia were interested in launching their own system.

It takes only two hours to install the online hotel reservation system. As for the price, it varies from 20GEL (about $8/€7.16*) to 150 GEL (about $60/€54), depending on the number of rooms in the hotel,” Natroshvili said.

By launching an online hotel booking system the Georgian Government aimed to support the country's small and medium hospitality businesses.

Georgia’s Minister of Economy Dimitry Kumsishvili hoped hotel online reservations would contribute to hospitality business development in Georgia and increase the number of international travellers.

The online hotel reservation system was created by Pro-Service with the support of Georgia’s Ministry of Economy.
