Georgian singer SALIO wins US record label contest

Music by Georgian pop singer SALIO will be broadcast to households across the United States (US) after she was announced winner of this year's SongBuilder Studios Songwriting Contest on Wednesday.

The young singer won the competition, which involved aspiring performers and songwriters looking for their international breakthrough.

Results of the two-month contest were announced by the American studio via their social media pages:

SALIO was awarded the win for her single Wayside, which was released this year as part of the artist's debut album Lost World.

Her authentic, soulful sound immediately drew us in. We couldn't be more excited to work with such a talented artist," said the US record label in it's announcement.

The win means an opportunity for SALIO to work with and record at the company's Catonsville, Maryland studio in the near future.

SALIO will work at the studio with Grammy Award-winning music professionals who have collaborated with famous artists and bands including Miley Cyrus, Bruce Springsteen and the Smashing Pumpkins.

The resulting music record will be played by around 100 radio stations across the US.

The SongBuilder Studios Songwriting Contest ran from September 5 to November 5. The US-based studio is owned by producers Stephen Joseph Antonelli and Nate Lanzino.
