The Government of Georgia will fund the construction of a new children's rehabilitation house for young people with tumors.
Today Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili announced next year the Government would begin building the children’s rehabilitation house. The new facility would specifically target children with solid tumours.
Kvirikashvili said the idea to build a hotel–like rehabilitation centre for ill children belonged to the Monk Andria Charity Fund and the construction would be financed by the Government initiated Solidarity Fund.
Construction works will launch in April 2017 and we expect it to be completed in October 2018,” Kvirikashvili said.
This will be the first facility in Georgia where children with solid tumours and their families will receive free treatment and rehabilitation services.
The facility will be capable of providing services for 20 kids and their parents, 24 hours a day.
A special day centre will also operate within the rehabilitation house were 50 children and their parents will receive a range of free support services during the day.

He said thousands of people will benefit from the new rehabilitation house and he noted public unit to fight the disease was essential.
