Today Georgia’s Holy Trinity Church in capital Tbilisi hosted an art exhibition of works created by Georgian female convicts and by those who have already served their sentences.

The art exhibition, organised by an international association Georgia for Friends, aimed to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of female inmates back into society.

We also wanted to show how these women, who spent time in prison, live now when they are free. These people very much need our public support,” said Georgia for Friends chairperson Tamar Basilashvili.

Representatives from the Ministry of Corrections said various programs were operating in Georgian prisons to support inmates to study, sell things they've made and to resocialise easily when released.
