Over 2.2m ballot papers printed for October 30 vote

Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has started printing ballot papers for the October 30 second round of Parliamentary Elections in Georgia.

Voting papers are being printed in five printing-houses in capital Tbilisi. The printing process is being monitored by CEC members and representatives of non-governmental organisations.

A total of 2,226,600 ballot papers will be printed for the election runoff.

Some ballot papers will be bilingual or trilingual and be printed in languages of Georgia’s ethnic minorities, including:

  • Armenian-Georgian
  • Azerbaijani-Georgian 
  • Armenian-Georgian-Azerbaijani.

Also on October 30 municipal by-elections to elect Sakrebulo (local council) members will be held in several municipalities across the country for which 4,200 ballot papers will be printed.

Also, extraordinary elections will be held to elect the Mayor of Akhaltsikhe in Georgia’s south. For this the CEC will prepare 14,000 ballot papers.

Furthermore, Gamgebeli (local governors) elections will be held in in several municipalities, for which 133,050 papers will be printed.

The election runoff will be held in 50 of Georgia’s 73 election districts.
