Over 100 delegates join global aviation meeting in Tbilisi

Georgia’s capital is preparing to host hundreds of top officials at a special meeting to discuss ways to modernise air traffic strategies.
Tbilisi will today host experts from the European Bureau of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Over 100 delegates from all member states of the European Bureau of the ICAO and officials of other international aviation organisations will participate in today’s meeting.
Guests will also arrive from all three headquarters of the ICAO, which are located in Paris, Cairo and Bangkok.
Besides talking about how to modernise air traffic, the experts will discuss ways how to develop Europe and Asian airspace.
Georgia’s first air cargo carrier, TCA, has become the second local airline to receive European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) authorisation, confirming it meets international operational and safety standards.
ICAO removes ‘red flag’ against Georgia
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has removed its ‘red flag’ against Georgia’s aviation industry after the country made changes to meet international safety regulations.
A French company that designs and builds electrical systems for aerospace, defence and world security markets is helping improve Georgia’s air navigation to better serve airlines that fly into and out of Georgia.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will help Georgia develop its civil aviation in accordance with the European standards. For this purpose, the Agency has received funding from the European Commission.
