Ruling Party: We are sure to win second round of elections

"Every second person voted for Georgian Dream and our governance will continue ruling the country with high legitimacy,” says Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party.
Kobakhidze said yesterday's elections were carried out in peaceful environment and that had been proven by reports released by international and local organisations.
We once again thank the voters for their confidence,” said Kobakhidze, adding the country was also ready for the second round of elections.
Kobakhidze noted 23 majoritarian candidates had won the elections while some candidates only lacked few votes.
We believe we will win the second round as well and Georgian Dream will gain the constitutional majority in Parliament of Georgia,” Kobakhidze said.
He also commented on the violations and said the attempt of United National Movement party to destabilise the calm environment failed.
Third party 0.01% away from threshold for entering Parliament
Georgia’s Central Election Commission has counted 99.41 percent of all votes countrywide. Latest preliminary results showed two leading parties, but a third party is only 0.01% away from overcoming the five percent threshold for entering Parliament.
The October 8 Parliamentary Elections in Georgia were competitive, well-administered and fundamental freedoms were generally respected, says the OSCE election observer mission.
