All across Georgia today the country’s citizens cast their vote to elect the ninth Parliament, with voting closing at 8pm Tbilisi time.

World media started reporting the first exit poll results shortly after they were released when voting closed.

One of the first to publish a story was reputable news agency Reuters, who published figures that put ruling Georgian Dream party on top.

Bloomberg news outlet also reported of Georgia’s big day and commented on results of the two exit polls announced in Georgia earlier this evening.

In its article Bloomberg said both exit poll results showed Georgian Dream had gained the most support, and was likely to retain power.

Bloomberg's Helena Bedwell noted preliminary results directly from the ballot would be "released through the night" by Georgia’s Central Election Commission.

The Bloomberg news piece also provided background details of the election and about some of the main figures participating in today’s vote.
