The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are dropping, meaning autumn is here, bringing with it colourful leaves, fresh air and renewed opportunities to get outside and enjoy nature.

This season is especially beautiful in Georgia's National Parks and Protected Areas.

This image of a roe deer and her fawn, shared by Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas, proves that autumn is a magical place in Georgia.

The photo was snapped by camera traps at Lagodekhi Protected Area in eastern Georgia’s Kakheti region earlier this month.

The same deer family was also spotted by cameras in summer.

Several years ago numerous camera traps were installed in Georgia’s Protected Areas and National Parks to capture footage and prove that a variety of animals, some rare, lived in the country’s uninhabited areas.

Since then many videos and photos have been released by the state and they are pretty magnificent, showing some of Georgia's most incredible wildlife.
