Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili is inviting citizens living in Georgia’s breakaway region Abkhazia to enjoy the services offered by the Georgian Government.
Kvirikashvili, who is chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, travelled to western Georgia’s Samegrelo region and presented the region’s majoritarian candidates last night, who will stand in the October 8 Parliamentary Elections.

While in Samegrelo - a region that borders breakaway Abkhazia - Kvirikashvili addressed the Abkhazian people and said the Georgian Government was ready to share with them the benefits of many Governmental programs.
Since Abkhazia is very close to Samegrelo, I want to address our Abkhazian brothers from here,” the PM said.
I want you to believe that we are for reconciliation and for peace; our Government has already proven this.”
Kvirikashvili said Georgia had chosen a peace policy and one way to prove this was the new high-profile hospital recently built in Rukhi village, near the administrative border of the breakaway region.
We want you to benefit from this modern clinic. I want you to know that we will welcome you properly,” Kvirikashvili said.
He added another bridge linking Georgians and Abkhazians would be a multi-functional shopping mall, currently being built in Rukhi.
The PM also spoke about internally displaced persons (IDPs) and said his Government was doing it best to ensure all IDPs lived in adequate, proper housing.
Kvirikashvili said since 2012 when GD coalition came into power, more than 12,000 IDPs had received new apartments and this process was still continuing.
The PM's visit to Samegrelo was part of his nationwide tour to introduce candidates who will run in the October 8 Parliamentary Elections.
So far the Georgian Dream has introduced its majoritarian candidates in two regions - Imereti and Samegrelo, both in Georgia’s west.
