Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is hosting almost 100 wine companies from several countries at the ninth annual WineExpo Georgia.

Over three days, starting today, Georgia’s capital is hosting the only international wine and spirits fair in the Caucasus region that showcases a full range of industry-related products and services.

Producers and exporters of 95 wine companies from five countries – Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, Italy and France – are in Tbilisi and participating in WineExpo Georgia 2016.

The WineExpo gives participants the chance to promote their products while establishing new industry networks and business opportunities.

WineExpo Georgia 2016 is taking place at the Expo Georgia fairground from June 3-5.

This exhibition is one of the largest-scale even in the field of winery in Georgia. Wine producer companies have the opportunity to introduce their production to customers as well as wine professionals. Such events allow us to better promote Georgia’s winemaking opportunities,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Nodar Kereselidze.

Over the three days Georgian wine and traditionally-made cheese will be presented. Guests will also be able to see wine-related tools such as winemaking equipment, viticulture machineries, glass and glassware, packaging and more.

Alongside the country’s big wine producers, the exhibition will host small and family wine producers as well as unique Georgian qvevri wines.

Within this year’s WineExpo Georgia, the eighth International Wine Award will be presented. The award is judged by world renowned wine journalists and specialists Tim Atkin Master of Wine (MW) from Britain, Kenichi Ohashi MW from Japan, Richard Kershaw MW from South Africa, Isa Bal MS from Turkeya and Levan Mekhuzla from Georgia.
