US website ranks Georgia among Best Ancient Civilizations

An American website ranked ancient Georgia as the third best ancient civilization in the world.

Georgia's ancient world was ranked by www.thetoptens.com after ancient Greece and ancient Egypt.

China and ancient Rome were ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

"It’s very old nation and very old country,” wrote the website while describing Georgia's past.

It added the nation was among the most brave in the world.

Shortly after the website released its list of top civilizations, the section that featured Georgia gained more than 100 comments. Most of the people, allegedly Georgians, praised the website and the Georgian culture.

"It is a magnificent country with amazing nature and interesting architecture,” wrote one internet user.

"Origins of wine is from Georgia, and first polyphonic songs in seven voices were sung in Georgia,” added another.

"According to archaeological excavations in the territory of Georgia, [here can be found] the first hominids in Europe dating back 1.8 million years ago. It is believed that they were the first Europeans, and that Georgia is a country where they have spread to other parts of Europe,” another person wrote.
