Government of Georgia finances 119 enterprises

The Government of Georgia is financing 119 enterprisesinvolved in Georgia’s agricultural sector, announced Minister of Agriculture Otar Danelia at today’s Governmental meeting.
Danelia said a media tour had been arranged for interested journalists to visit all the enterprises in all regions of Georgia which were being financed by the Government.
The Minister thanked all the journalists who had expressed their interests in learning more about the enterprises.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said the media tour was a novel idea.
"It is important to show society all the enterprises which are financed by the Government. [With this] I think the media and the opposition parties will no longer have any questions about the promised enterprises or where they are,” Garibashvili said.
The opening of 100 new enterprises was among the major pre-election promises of the new government.
Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture has presented more than 100 new enterprises funded by various Government programs to enhance and develop the country’s agricultural sector.
The Georgian Government plans to stimulate domestic production and develop production-oriented industries through a new state program named Produce in Georgia.
A group of British officials are visiting Georgia to learn about the country’s investment potential in the agriculture sector, and will later share this knowledge with British investors once they return to the United Kingdom (UK).
The most modern pork production facility in the Caucasus region has opened in Georgia.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing significant financial support to new agricultural projects in Georgia with the aim of stimulating the country’s agricultural sector.
