Almost two dozen Georgian companies that produce wines and spirits are taking part in one of the world’s leading international trade fairs for the wine and spirit industry.

Nineteen Georgian companies are featuring at the ProWein Düsseldorf exhibition in Germany, which started on March 15 and will end on March 17.

This will be the 15th time Georgian beverage producers are participating in the annual event, which attracts 4,830 exhibitors from 47 countries and 49,048 visitors from 110 countries.

The Georgian National Wine Agency and the Georgian Wine Association were instrumental in ensuring an assortment of Georgian wines was showcased at the ProWein 2015 exhibition.

The ProWein exhibition is considered an important platform where wine producing companies can establish business relationships with international partners, find new importers and future partners, and learn more about modern technologies and services in the industry.

Already during the exhibition, Georgian company representatives have held negotiations with importers and the distribution companies from Europe, Canada, the United States and more.

The Georgian delegation will soon met with international organisations that support wine businesses, international PR companies, representatives of international market research organisations and with various chairmen of companies who promote Georgian wine abroad.

Meanwhile, as well as establishing relationships with foreign industry insiders, Georgian wine producers will be able to present their creations alongside other famous wines of the world. During the exhibition, plans are in place for wine tasting and master classes.

Georgia was first showcased at the ProWein Düsseldorf exhibition in 2000 with only five companies. The event is recognised as one of the most prestigious events in the wine industry, and each year more and more companies from around the world attend. This year 19 Georgian companies are participating in the event.
