Georgia's seaside city Batumi has invited locals and visitors to spend "unforgettable days" over the festive season by taking part in illuminated celebrations of Christmas and New Year's Eve in the Black Sea resort.

A two-week program for marking the holidays was launched in the city on December 25, with the Batumi Tourist Information Centre announcing a program of events and activities open for public.

The occasions included Christmas fair and artist performances at more than a dozen locations in Batumi as well as surrounding towns.

Streets of the city were decorated and illuminated for the festivities while a special Christmas tree was also in place to bring cheer to locals and tourists alike.
