Georgian-Greek parliamentary relations are stepping up to a new, higher level.
Greek lawmakers have formed a special group within the country’s legislative body that supports Georgia’s interests.
Yesterday a Parliamentary group named ‘Georgia’s Friends Group’ was confirmed by Greece’s Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis.
The Georgia Friends Group consists of seven Members of Parliament (MPs) from the majority and opposition and is chaired by ruling Syriza Party representative Georgios Akriotis.
Georgia’s Ambassador to Greece Joseb Nanobashvili welcomed the establishment of the Georgia Friends Group and revealed he had positive expectations that from this, bilateral relations between Georgia and Greece would enhance.
He noted the two nations already enjoyed positive relations but this was another step forward that promoted a better partnership between the two friendly nations.
