The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has opened a new office in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi.
Today’s opening ceremony was attended by Georgia’s Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri and EBRD Director for the Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus Bruno Balvanera.
While delivering his speech Khaduri thanked the EBRD for "successful cooperation over many years” and for financing "important projects” in Georgia’s public and private sectors.
The Finance Minister said EBRD had almost doubled its investments in Georgia in 2014, which exceeded €200 million.
Since the EBRD entered Georgia, it has invested about €2.6 million in the country.
Khaduri also thanked the EBRD for choosing Georgia to host the EBRD’s Annual Meeting in May this year, which brought thousands of experts from all over the world to Georgia.
The new office will complement the EBRD’s resident office on Marjanishvili St.
