Georgia will earn about half million GEL as a transit country that supports the transfer of energy from Azerbaijan to Turkey.
Today Sulkhan Zumburidze, the general director of Georgian State Electrosystem, said the Georgian side had successfully completed "intensive” negotiations with Azerbaijan to ensure the country benefitted from being an energy transit country.
From the negotiations, the two sides agreed on "various details” which were included in the agreement.
Zumburidze added further discussion was needed and both countries were still negotiating finer agreement details.
He assumed Georgia and Azerbaijan might sign the deal next year.
