The Georgian National Museum is celebrating the launch of its official Instagram page by hosting an exhibition of photographs taken at museum spaces by five artists.
On Tuesday, October 6 the Museum’s official Instagram account will go live, simultaneously as the exhibition, featuring local popular Instagram users Louisa Chalatashvili, Nata Abashidze-Romanovskaya, Davit Tchalidze, Dina Oganova and Levan Maisuradze.
The five photographers – some amateur and some professional – took advantage of special lighting conditions to capture eye-catching photographs of Museum exhibits, visitors and spaces.

Meanwhile the Museum’s Instagram account aimed to offer viewers a look behind the scenes of the Museum and its operations, showing staff prepare for exhibitions, work with archived items and carry out restoration works on exhibits.
In the coming days before the official launch, the Museum launched an Instagram campaign with the hashtag #museuminfocus and encouraged amateur and professional photographers to upload images with the hashtag ahead of the formal presentation of the page.
Next Tuesday evening in the garden of the Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia – one of the National Museum’s venues – will feature music by Sandro Tediashvili, known by his stage name TedArt.
