Georgia is participating in the seventh Baltic Business Forum (BBF) in Poland as an honored guest to speak about the country’s economy and opportunities to develop mutual cooperation with Forum member countries.

Discussions surrounding economic cooperation in the region between countries in the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Sea areas opened in the Polish city of Swinoujscie, located on the Baltic coast on September 21.

During the three-day economic conference Georgia will participate in a political and economic discussion that will serve as an introduction to a series of practical panels.

This beautiful, picturesque country is an interesting destination not only for Polish but also for European tourists, however it also is unusual and interesting direction for our entrepreneurs,” stated the BBF on its website.
With the help of representatives of business and politics we will share with you experience of the Eastern Partnership countries in economic cooperation with Georgia,” the BBF said.

Head of the Georgian National Investment Agency Giorgi Pertaia represented Georgia at the economic forum and lead the investment session titled ‘Georgia: Small Country – Great Opportunities’.

The BBF said the part of the event that promised to be "especially interesting” was the session on Georgia.

What are the conditions for the development of Polish investments in the Georgian market? Which sectors will grow the fastest? What is the legal environment for business operation there? – these questions will be addressed by representatives of the [Georgian] Government in Tbilisi, led by Deputy Minister of Energy Ilia Eloshvili and president of the Georgian Investment Agency Giorgi Pertaia,” said BBF.

While delivering his speech, Pertaia talked about the investment environment in Georgia and how the country was following its Euro-integration course. At the same time Pertaia introduced forum participants to Georgia’s major investment sectors and upcoming projects. He also highlighted Georgia’s potential in deepening trade and economic relations with the European Union (EU).

The BBF is an international economic event that has taken place annually since 2009. During the Forum representatives of business and politics from countries from the west, central and eastern Europe have an opportunity for debate on a wide variety of topics.
