The Georgian national football team is gearing up to face Scotland in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match tonight in Tbilisi, while two other Group D matches will also be played this evening in other countries.
Georgia’s head coach Kakha Tskhadadze has carefully watched over his team as they trained in the days leading up to tonight’s match. He will choose his starting 11 from a list of 24 players from local and international clubs. The full line-up will be revealed shortly before the match begins.
Speaking to reporters earlier in the week Tskhadadze revealed he planned to use a structure that played three defenders against the visiting team.
The national team coach faced a potentially difficult choice between Nurki Revishvili and Giorgi Loria for the goalkeeper’s position, however Revishvili recent game efforts might sway the decision in his favour.
Georgia are second from the bottom in their qualifying group with three points from six matches, while Scotland are third in the group and are challenging to advance from the group stage. In the other two Group D games, second-placed Germany will play group leaders Poland, while Gibraltar will face Ireland tonight.
The Tbilisi game is set to kick off at 8pm local time at Georgia’s national stadium – Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena – and will be broadcast live on Georgian Public Broadcasting Channel 1.
Roads around the stadium will be closed from 5pm until the end of the match, noted the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
