Georgia's seaside town Batumi now boasts the largest piece of mural art in the country.
A wall of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University building on Ninoshvili St - next to the city’s Hilton Batumi Hotel - was used by urban artist Dr. Love to create the iconic piece of art as part of the Batumi Grafikart Festival 2015.
In the piece Dr Love, who is known for his works in the capital city Tbilisi, created a sea "selfie” scene that took up the entire façade of the building.

Paintings by a group of urban artists are being created throughout Batumi as part of the Festival’s 2015 theme of Sea and Love, with 700 square metres of new art planned for 2015 in the third year of the project.

Distinctive murals already present in the city completed as part of the Festival include 10 compositions created in 2014 by 18 artists of the Paris’ L’attrape Rêve gallery as well as six Georgian creations.
The gallery co-organised the Festival project together with the Dotcomma art studio, while the project is supported by Georgia’s Ministry of Culture.
