German company Henkel, a global producer of detergents, cosmetics, technological products and adhesives is entering Georgia.
The company's first plant in Transcaucasia will be built in Gardabani municipality, located 39 km south of Georgia's capital Tbilisi. About €6 million of investments will be allocated to build a construction adhesive materials plant.
Georgian locals will be employed at the plant and the production will be sold in the Georgian market initially, said Garabani municipality head Garsevan Nioradze.
"We have already issued a plant construction permit,” said Nioradze.
"The plant construction works have already begun. More than 1 million GEL has already been invested. The project is set to finish at the end of May 2015. Henkel company representatives promise that they will employ about 40-50 local people. It will be a big relief for the local budget,” he added.
Looking back on nearly 140 years of success, Henkel’s vision is to become a global leader in brands and technologies. Henkel already holds globally leading market positions both in the consumer and industrial sector today and is well known for brands such as Persil, Schwarzkopf and Loctite.
The company is organised into three globally operating business units: Laundry and Home Care, Beauty Care and Adhesive Technologies. The company is headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany and boasts 47,000 employees from more than 120 nations worldwide.
