Georgian artists around the world are coming together to raise money for the victims of the devastating June 13 flood, which claimed the lives of 19 people and completely destroyed Tbilisi Zoo.

Several charity concerts have already been held but more are on the agenda for the coming days and weeks.

Georgian singer Katie Melua, who is now based in the United Kingdom, will gather her friends to sell Georgian food, artworks and souvenirs to raise money for Tbilisi Zoo and people affected by the disaster. The charity event will be held in London at Covent Gardens on July 26.

This effort comes after Melua held a charity concert on Sunday night, which also raised funds for her hometown Tbilisi.

Meanwhile Georgian designer Ketevan Sakareli is contributing to Melua’s upcoming charity sale. Sakareli has donated a one-off specially designed enamel ornament of Tbilisi Zoo’s hippopotamus Beggy, who became a symbol of the Tbilisi flash flood after she escaped the Zoo in the flood and was later found wandering the streets.
