Every single family whose house was destroyed in the June 13 flash flood will have a roof over their heads, promises Georgian authorities.
Tbilisi vice Mayor Dimitri Kumsishvili said every flood-affected family would be offered a new dwelling based on a "proper assessment” of their damaged home and current needs.
The central budget has already allocated 10 million GEL to combat the damage caused by major flooding in the country’s capital.
"Currently we are mainly spending money on cleaning and recovering works. There are some primary needs such as finding the missing people and offering safe living conditions to [affected] people,” said Kumsishvili.
The vice Mayor announced the spending of all funds, down to the Tetri, allocated to the flood recovery would be transparent.
"Everyone will be able to see how the money was spent on www.help.tbilisi.gov.ge,” he said.
About 400 people from 80 families were forced from their damaged homes and temporarily placed in 10 hotels and houses. The families were being provided with food, first aid, medicine and children’s products.
