More than 1,000 local children with disabilities have been selected to spend their summer holidays in a five-star hotel on the western coast of Georgia.

The first group of 75 disabled children and their parents are on their way to Anaklia, where they will spend a two-week summer holiday. After this, other groups of children will spend about two weeks at the top hotel on a rotation basis before returning home for the new school year.

Five-star hotel Golden Fleece [Okros Satsmisi] in Anaklia, western Georgia, will host the children and their parents this year after accommodation used in previous years did not meet necessary standards.

This decision was made by Tbilisi City Hall.

Head of City Hall’s Health and Social Services Department Gela Chiviashvili emphasized that the previous place where these children stayed during their summer holidays was in poor condition.

Due to the fact that the supplier did not meet the tender conditions, this year families of disabled children have the chance to spend their holidays in a five-star hotel in Anaklia, and they are very grateful for this decision, Chiviashvili said.

In total 1,200 children were selected to spend their summer holidays in with their parents in Anaklia. Earlier this year children with disabilities applied for the summer holiday program and 1,200 were selected.
