A Georgian footballer has made history after scoring two goals in the most prestigious Italian football league.
Georgia’s Levan Mchedlidze scored two goals in Serie A in his latest match; giving him the honour of the first Georgian footballer to score a brace in the prestigious competition.
Serie A is a competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian football league system.
Mchedlidze, who plays as a forward for Empoli FC, scored two memorable goals against one of the most renowned Italian clubs FC Internazionale Milano in yesterday’s hard-fought match.
Despite the efforts of the Georgian player in the last round of the league competition, Empoli FC lost to its opponent 3:4.
Empoli FC finished this year’s Serie A in 15th place, while Internazionale ended up in 8thplace.
Mchedlidze, who also plays forward for Georgia’s national football team, is the first Georgian footballer to score a brace in the prestigious Italian championship.
The first Georgian footballer to score a goal in Serie A was former AC Milan defender and current Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, however during his international career he never scored two goals in one match of the prestigious championship.
