For a short while the young children were able to escape from their illnesses and enjoy the summer sun and entertainment from people dressed up as characters of famous fairytales.

The children had all received cancer treatment that was financed by the Government-initiated Solidarity Fund.

Latest information noted funds donated to the charity had financed the cost of local and international treatment for about 97 young patients living with cancer.

At today’s celebration PM Garibashvili congratulated the children and wished them a happy and healthy future.

Today is a very nice day. I see children and their happy parents and I guess that life is going ahead. We were able to help them and this is the greatest happiness for me. Kindness is contagious,” he said.
More than 2 million GEL has been donated to the Government-initiated Solidarity Fund since it was established in July 2014. From this money we have funded the treatment of children suffering from cancer. Thank God, all these children will be very healthy soon,” Garibashvili said.

At the end of the celebration the Georgian official gifted the children with tablet devices and posed for photographs with them.

In total the Solidarity Fund had gathered slightly more than 2.6 million GEL since it launched ten months ago. Of this money, 1,757,000 GEL has already been approved to cover the cost of treatment for 57 patients in Georgia and 40 patients in clinics in Germany, Turkey, Israel, Italy and France.
