Two million GEL will be injected into the Georgian healthcare system to prevent unnecessary deaths and raise the standard of healthcare in Georgia’s rural areas.
Today the Government approved 26 issues, including a Ministry of Health-backed project that would improve medical facilities specifically in villages and mountainous regions.
The amendments were made in an attempt to prevent the number of deaths during childbirth, to mother or child.
To further combat this, the Ministry of Health will provide free medicine and vitamins to pregnant women.
Another change will see village doctors’ salaries increase by 30 percent.
Also today Cabinet Ministers approved a social rehabilitation and child centre program.
This year, the program titled ‘Emergency Assistance to Families with Children in Crisis Situations’ will be included as a sub-program.
According to the changes, poor families with children will be provided with basic medical treatment.
At today’s Government meeting held in the Government’s Administration building, Cabinet Members discussed 29 issues and approved 26.
