Georgian manuscripts preserved in the Oxford and Cambridge libraries in the UK will soon become digital.

Negotiations are currently being held surrounding the delivery of the manuscripts to the London National Library, where they were decrypted and soon will be turned into electronic copies, Georgia’s State Minister on Diaspora issues Konstantine Surguladze announced.

The new electronic documents will be scanned then saved in a photo format.

Later, the digital versions will be returned to Georgian.

Meanwhile, six piece of ancient Georgian texts, which have already been digitized, has already been delivered to Georgia from the UK library.

The Minister said the copies of the old writings will be relocated to the Georgian Orthodox Church, National Center of Manuscripts, the National Library and to the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.

One piece of the manuscript will remain at the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on Diaspora Issues.
