President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelahsvili is paying his first official visit to Poland.
An official reception ceremony was held at the Polish Presidential Palace today.
After Margvelashvili’s meeting with Polish President BronisÅaw Komorowski, the two leaders will issue a joint statement to media.
Later today, the Georgian President will decorate the memorial of the Unknown Soldier with flowers.
A meeting with the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is also on the agenda. Along with his entourage, the President is also expected to meet with incumbent Marshal of the republic of Poland, Ewa Kopacz.
Margvelashvili is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the Georgian Diaspora in Poland.
In the evening, to demonstrate their respect for the Georgian President and his accompanying lady Maka Chichua, the Polish President and his wife Anna Komorowska, will hold a dinner.
Tomorrow, Margvelashvili will visit Krakow, second largest and one of the oldest cities of Poland.
The President is being accompanied to Poland by a Georgian delegation involving head of the Security Council Irina Imerlishvili, Parliamentary majority members Zurab Abashidze and Zviad Kvachantiradze, the President’s Foreign Advisor Vano Machavariani and head of the President’s Administration Lasha Abashidze.
The delegation is expected to return to Georgia on tomorrow evening.
