EU calls on Georgia to clarify opinion on selective justice

The head of the European Parliament delegation to Georgia has called on the country’s authorities not to let anyone suspect selective justice operates within the country.

Milan Cabrnoch, who is also the chair of EU–Georgia Parliament Cooperation Committee, said at this point in time full attention of the EU was centered on Georgia’s democratic advancement.

At the 16th session of the Committee in Tbilisi, Cabrnoch pointed out the EP was moved by a desire to assist Georgia realize its European Dream by cultivating relations with 29 countries of the EU.

"We do not want to think that the Georgian Political biggies seek revenge on their political opponents,” he claimed.

At the session, the parties also spoke about Georgia’s internally displaced people.

"We know that a myriad of Georgians live a hardscrabble existence. We have put our heads together to hammer out a solution to their problems,” the EP delegation leader said.

He also claimed the EU was obviously voicing support to Georgia’s territorial integrity.

The parties also highlighted the importance of the EU mission in Georgia.
