Chinese visitors targeted in new tourism campaign

More Chinese visitors could soon touch down on Georgian soil thanks to a new tourism campaign in China.

Head of the Georgian Tourism Administration, Giorgi Sigua, is in China to promote Georgia as a tourist destination.

The promotion has been received favorably in the Asian nation, particularly in Harbin, the largest city in Chinas Heilongjiang province.

Today, the Harbin City Council decided to allocate space in a central city park, free of charge, to promote Georgia as a place to visit.

According to Sigua, the Georgian Tourism Administration will advertise Georgia as a destination in many Chinese cities, including Harbin, which is the tenth largest city nationwide.

Tomorrow, Sigua is expected to meet with Chinese government officials and the head of the China Southern Airlines to discuss a regular flight service between China and Georgia.
