A possible meeting between Georgian and Russian leaders will be discussed when representatives of the two countries meet next month.
Georgia’s Special Representative for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin are set to meet in Prague on March 4.
Abashidze told Georgian news agency Interpressnews the two sides would discuss renewal of trade between the two nations, transport connections and humanitarian - cultural relations. Implementing investment projects was also on the agenda, Abashidze said.
The pair would also critically discuss a potential meeting between the Georgian and Russian Presidents, he said.
Earlier, statements from both nations revealed their readiness to take part in a possible meeting between presidents.
Next month’s meeting is the sixth meeting between Abashidze and Karasin. The first meeting between the pair was held in Prague in December 2012.
As a result of those negotiations, it was decided Georgian products would return to the Russian market and steps were taken to restore air traffic between the two countries.
