Georgian citizens intending to travel to India will not be required to pay a visit to their local consulate to get a visa.

India has decided to extend the country's limited visa-on-arrival scheme to tourists from 180 countries, including Georgia.

Until now, India only had a simplified visa regime with 11 countries.

The new law will come into effect from October. From then, tourists wanting to stay in India no longer than 30 days will be allowed to apply online and within three day they will be informed details of their visa, which they can pick up at any of India’s international airports.
