The Georgian luger who died in a tragic accident at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games will be honoured at the Sochi Olympic competition.
Nodar Kumaritashvili will be remembered by the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and the International Luge Federation.
Bach said official meetings will be held with representatives of Georgian Olympic Committee to further pay their respects to Kumaritashvili.
Kumaritashvili, 21, was on his final official training run when he lost control at high speed and crashed into a steel pole. He was travelling at 143.3 km per hour when he crashed.
After the accident Kumaritashvili was transferred to hospital, where he later died.
