Head of NATO Liaison Office in Georgia William Lahue calls upon society not to make uninformed statements about the controversial video of ex-PM Vano Merabishvili, which surfaced on the internet yesterday.

Lahue noted the NATO Liaison Office had specific information about the Mukhrovani case but it was "a sensitive issue” and he did not want to comment on it.

"Our office is aware of the video footage that was released yesterday. I want to call upon journalists to abstain from preliminary comments because this is a military structure with very strict regulations.

"Therefore it is essential not to make preliminary judgments, whether the military personal was acting illegitimately or not,” Lahue said at a press conference at the Georgian Defence Ministry.
