Details of the investigation into the sudden death of former media tycoon Erosi Kitsmarishvili will soon be revealed publicly, a prosecutor says.
Tbilisi Prosecutor Mikheil Shakulashvili said the investigation would end "in the nearest future” while attending a mock trial organised by pupils at Tbilisi First Experimental School today.
"All details that we have found out during the investigation will certainly soon be publicised,” he said, adding he would refrain from making further comments about the case until the investigation results were made public.
Kitsmarishvili – founder of Georgian television channel Rustavi 2, ex-Mayoral candidate of Rustavi city and ex-Georgian Ambassador to Russia – was found dead in his car in an underground car park at his Vake home on July 15.
He had a single gunshot wound to the head. Experts said he was shot at close range.
The case was initially regarded as a suicide but Kitsmarishvili’s family and friends said they did not agree with this version.
Reportedly, the family planned to meet the prosecutor before the case details are released.
