UAE official expresses interest in Georgia

A top United Arab Emirates (UAE) official responsible for international cooperation and development is in Tbilisi to learn more about Georgia’s economic environment.

The visit of Minister of International Cooperation and Development of the UAE Sheikha Lubna Khalid al Qasimi comes after Georgia’s Prime Minister paid an official visit to the UAE in September.

PM Irakli Garibashvili hosted the UAE official at the Government Administration yesterday.

The key topic of the meeting was Georgia’s current investment environment and business opportunities. The UAE official was mainly interested in Georgia’s capabilities of exporting agricultural products.

PM Garibashvili noted that the UAE was one of the most important investors in Georgia and this was much appreciated. He also expressed his delight over the growing number of visitors from the UAE to Georgia.

The sides also discussed ongoing projects and reforms in Georgia’s agriculture, transport and energy sectors.

The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikasvili and Deputy Economy Minister Ketevan Bochorishvili.
