Georgia's Parliament Speaker begins Israel visit

The Speaker of Georgia's Parliament Davit Usupashvili is in Israel for one day to meet meet local authorities.  

Usupashvili is scheduled to meet the chairman of Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, which is the highest legislative body of Israel, and the head of the Georgia-Israel friendship group Avraham Michael during his visit abroad.

Usupashvili is scheduled to deliver speech in Knesset and address members of Israel's Parliament and the country's people.

Later today Georgia's Parliament Speaker will meet the newly elected President of Israel Reuven Rivlin and chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset, Zeev Elkin. He is also scheduled to meet opposition leader Isaac Herzog.

After the official meetings Usupashvili will lay a wreath at the Holocaust victims memorial Yad Vashem.

The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament will accompany Usupashvili on the one-day Israel trip.
