Man arrested for printing fake money

A Georgian citizen has been detained for manufacturing and using fake money.

It is alleged Shakro Boghishvili preparing fake one hundred GEL notes using a color printer and special paints.

After printing the notes, Boghishvili would use the illegitimate money at shops in different regions of Georgia.

The Finance Ministrys Investigative Service claimed Boghishvili had been charged for the same crime in the past.

If Boghishvili is convicted, he could face a lengthy prison sentence. The crime is punishable by seven to 10 years imprisonment under Georgian law.
