One Turkish citizen has been detained for smuggling and using fake currency, announces the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance.
The man has been accused of bringing fake 15,000 Turkish lira ($2,635/€2,359) in from Turkey.
The investigation has also seized an additional 5,000 fake Turkish lira ($878/€786).
The crime is punishable by seven to 10 years imprisonment.
The Ministry of Finance’s Investigative Service has detained three men for using counterfeit currency in East Georgia today.
