Georgia and Ukraine are forging a joint path as they make their way towards the European Union (EU).

High officials from the two countries met in Kiev today to discuss the EU-integration issues for the first time since the countries signed the EU Association Agreements.

Georgian and Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Ministers Tamar Beruchashvili and Natalia Galibarenko discussed a number of topics concerning the priorities and future prospects of cooperating with the EU.

They held consultations on effective implementation of the AAs and the Visa-Liberalization process.

Beruchashvili and Galibarenko also discussed the Georgia-Ukraine bilateral cooperation. The parties agreed to cooperate closely in the process of reform implementation under the European integration agenda.

In this context, the Georgian side expressed its readiness to share with Ukraine its experiences in fighting corruption and adopting reforms in the spheres of law and justice.

During the meeting, the two delegations reaffirmed their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity within the universally recognized borders of Georgia and Ukraine.

Georgia and Ukraine, together with Moldova, signed the important partnership document with the EU last week.
