Georgia’s Foreign Minister has joined a reception ceremony in New York dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia.
Maia Panjikidze was welcomed to the event and congratulated on her country’s independence.
The ceremony was organized at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York under the aegis of the UN Mission and the Consulate General of Georgia in New York.
UN member state representatives, as well as the Consul Generals of Georgia in New York, attended the welcome ceremony.
Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs is on a whirlwind trip to the United States to discuss Georgia’s progress and enhance Georgia’s relationships with UN member states.
She will update the UN member states on Georgia’s progress, future priorities and reforms recently passed in the country.
In the US, Foreign Minister Panjikidze will also meet US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Samantha Power.
The Minister’s working visit In US will end on May 30.
