Georgian Prime Minister meets German, Ukrainian and Moldovan leaders

A joint statement of the leaders of the three countries is palnned today.

The Prime Minister of Georgia is beginning a two-day official visit to Germany.

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was invited to Germany by President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.

Today, on the first day of his two-day official visit, Garibashvili will be hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at an official dinner.

After this, a joint statement will be released by the Georgian PM, German Chancellor, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca.

Tomorrow, May 29, PM Garibashvili and other high-ranking guests will attend a reception event organised by Aachen City Hall.

In Germany, Garibashvili will attend the Charlemagne Price (Karlspreis) award ceremony and deliver a speech with the European Council president. At the ceremony Van Rompuy is expected to be awarded for his efforts to consolidate and strengthen the European Union (EU).

The Georgian Prime Minister and German Chancellor are scheduled to meet again in early June.
