Travelling to Switzerland has become easier and cheaper for Georgian citizens.
From January 1, 2014, Georgian citizens (businessmen, journalists, or people with family members with a living permit in Switzerland) will be granted long-term multi-entry visas. The visa will be processed within 10 days and will cost € 35 instead of € 60.
A statement by the Swiss embassy in Tbilisi said: "The agreement, based on the EU regulations, aims to standardize visa procedures with the Schengen Area.
The cost of a national visa for longer than 90 days will remain the same, € 60.
The agreement to amend the law was signed by the Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Maia Panjikidze and the President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter on September 13, 2013.
